A lawsuit has been filed against the renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Ramtin Kassir Rice for allegedly performing botched nose surgery. Rice is known for injecting Snooki from the Real Housewives of Jersey Shore’s lips.
Case story of Arevik Khurdayan
Arevik Khurdayan, who is 34 years old, recently went to the doctor to get her septum corrected. The doctor and his team tried to convince her to get a nose job, but it ended up causing her even more problems in the long run.
How the incident took place?
Due to the fact that Khurdayan, a lawyer by profession, was experiencing trouble breathing as a result of a deviated septum, he went to see Dr. Ramtin Kassir, a well-known plastic surgeon in Manhattan. In addition to reconstructive surgery, the medical center provides treatments for snoring and problems related to the sinuses.
They suggested that Khurdayan get a septorhinoplasty, which is a dual treatment that would fix her breathing concerns as well as improve her aesthetics.
Khurdayan had two separate operations in February 2016, and she claims that rather than helping her breathing, the procedures actually made her illness far more severe.
She claims in a medical malpractice action that she had to have additional procedures performed by a different doctor to fix her deviated septum and remove polyps and obstructions in her nose that occurred in her nose as a result of the poorly conducted nose job. The medical malpractice case was launched in 2017 in the Manhattan Supreme Court.
According to Khurdayan, in order to obtain her medical documents, she was required to make multiple visits to the office of the plastic surgeon. She was eventually successful in obtaining them and discovered that the file contained forged documents with her signature forged on multiple consent forms. She was shocked to find out that her signature had been forged.
In addition to this, she asserted that her medical records did not contain the mandatory information that a patient is required to be informed of prior to undergoing surgery, specifically that she would be intubated and sleeping for the duration of the procedure.
Khurdayan stated that the initials and signatures were not hers, but rather matched those of a nurse at Dr. Ramtin Kassir’s clinic who had signed her earlier documents. Khurdayan claimed that the signatures and initials belonged to someone else.
According to Steve Cohen of Pollock Cohen, Khurdayan should have been given the treatment that was agreed upon, but she wasn’t, and as a result, she was forced to endure unnecessary agony. This was the outcome of Khurdayan not receiving the operation that was agreed upon.
The well-known plastic surgeon is currently being taken to court for multiple violations, some of which include medical negligence, breach of contract, failure to get informed consent, and forgery. The doctor made an effort to restrict the total number of claims, but Supreme Court Judge Joan Madden did not approve of his motion, which highlights the prospect of the case progressing further.
According to the attorney for Dr. Ramtin Kassir, the decision made by the judge was simply procedural, and the accusations made against the doctor were baseless, which is why the judge did not allow the case to move further.
According to the office of Dr. Ramtin Kassir, the allegedly “forged” signatures were the consequence of a system malfunction that allowed the plaintiff’s signatures to be taken from other documents and placed into blank signature fields on blank documents. This allowed the plaintiff’s signatures to be “forged.”
Case story of Snooki’s Lips
This week, the diminutive star of “Jersey Shore” admitted that she got lip injections to augment her naturally thin pout and give her more of a fuller appearance.
“The very first session of lip augmentation went well. She had always been self-conscious about her thin lips, and she never dreamed that she would have the guts to get injections in them in order to make them look more attractive, but she did it anyway. The reality TV regular captioned a selfie that they posted on Instagram.
The reality star, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi and who is 27 years old, claims that getting the shots “wasn’t bad at all!” despite the fact that she was “terrified” to get them.
Additionally, she abhors the use of needles. She has a deep appreciation for her “natural beauty,” but because she wanted to be able to enhance the appearance of her lips and so boost her self-esteem, she decided to have surgery.
Case of Kylie Jenner
After the celebrity patient reached her goal weight, renowned plastic and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Ramtin Kassir performed the procedure on her to enhance her appearance.
The mother of two is ten years older than Kylie Jenner, another reality star with enormous lips who, in May, finally admitted to taking fillers after being attacked for her full pout. The mother of two is known for her full lips.
The Legal Aspect
For your case to be successfully argued, a medical malpractice litigator in New York City must have experience in situations just like yours. It is vital to initiate a medical malpractice lawsuit against all careless medical professionals who subject patients to needless suffering while believing they would escape liability.
Case History of Khurdayan v. Dr. Ramtin Kassir
By order dated June 5, 2020, the court (Madden, J.) severed the remaining causes of action and dismissed the claims for unjust enrichment, fraud, and fraudulent inducement based on alleged misrepresentations by the defendants, as well as a promise to pay rescission and engaging in deceptive business practices in violation of General Business Law 340 and 350 (second and third causes of action).
The plaintiff was diagnosed with a deviated septum on November 19, 2013, although Dr. Daniel B. Kuriloff cautioned her that this ailment might or might not be the source of her alleged breathing and nasal congestion problems.
After conducting independent lay research about septoplasty and rhinoplasty treatments, the plaintiff initially got in touch with Dr. Ramtin Kassir in June 2015 and had their first meeting with him on August 11, 2015.
The plaintiff then went back to Dr. Ramtin Kassir’s clinic on December 22, 2015, when he gave her information about the benefits, dangers, and indications for a septorhinoplasty procedure as well as alternatives. The plaintiff’s assent to the operations as she understood them, as the Dr. Ramtin Kassir defendants say she understood them, or as they may have been described in relevant permission forms is a point of fierce contention between the parties.
The plaintiff signed a different surgical informed consent form on February 9, 2016, the day of the surgery, than the ones she allegedly signed on January 19, 2016, in which she allegedly confirmed that Dr. Ramtin Kassir had warned her of the risks and consequences of the procedure, informed her of the alternatives to it, described the risks of those alternatives, and explained the prognosis if no treatment were provided.
Given the foregoing, it is
It is ORDERED that the Dr. Ramtin Kassir defendants’ motion to dismiss is granted in so far as it dismisses the claims in the amended complaint for violations of General Business Law 349 and 350 (second cause of action), fraud/fraud in the inducement (third cause of action), unjust enrichment (fourth cause of action), and written agreement (fifth cause of action), and it is further ORDERED that the motion to dismiss is denied in all other respects.

A remote discovery conference will be held with the court on July 1, 2020, at 11 am to establish the appropriate scope of discovery in light of this decision and order, and it is further ORDERED that the Dr.Ramtin Kassir defendants’ application for a protective order be granted so as directing that it be held.
